About the Director
Ann Green holds an Honours Bachelor of Music in Church Music and a Bachelor of Education from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as a Masters of Music from Western University. She performs as a violist, violinist, organist, pianist and singer. She was the founding conductor of the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, and has acted as Music Director for the Mayor's Celebration of the Arts and Music and Lights in the Village, both of Cambridge. Ann owned and operated Beyond the Clef Music School in Downtown Hespeler Village for 11 years where she taught lessons, supervised staff, and conducted annual teacher training seminars. In 2005, Ann won the The Bernice Adams Memorial Award for Music for her involvement in the Arts.
With Arcady, Ann enjoys performing as a violist and singer. Her string trio, Harmonia performs weddings, concerts, and corporate events and includes long-time friends and violinists Kristi Coleman-Dorland and Julia McFarlane.
Ann's compositions include 3 children's musicals, Like a Child, Mandela the Musical, and Global Chorus, choral works, and pieces for developing orchestras.
Ann teaches French, Music, and Special Education with the Waterloo Region Board of Education and is the Music Director of St. Mark's United Church in Dundas.
